It started with two young IT professionals in Calgary, Sulekha and Sunil, who shared a deep love for food and a growing frustration with the restaurant industry they were observing around them. As foodies and working professionals, they noticed how many restaurants struggled every day — heavy dependence on dedicated chefs, owners tied to the business full time, poor tracking of profit and loss, weak online presence, messy grocery management, and hardly any time left for family. On top of that, many places served average food with little demand. They kept asking themselves one simple question: why should running a restaurant be this complicated?

That question quickly turned into an idea, and the idea became GingerFresh Indo-Chinese Cuisine. Built from real experiences and late-night discussions, GingerFresh was designed to remove the common headaches of restaurant ownership. The concept focused on bold Indo-Chinese street flavors, a smart and simplified menu, strong systems, and reduced dependency on chefs. It wasn’t about fancy words or trends — it was about creating something practical, profitable, and enjoyable for both customers and owners.

From drawings to reality, GingerFresh opened its first franchise location on Temple Drive NE, Calgary. The response was faster than expected. The unique menu, street-style Indo-Chinese flavors, and consistent quality quickly caught attention across North-East Calgary. Customers came back with friends and family, spreading the word. By blending technology with food — from ordering systems to operations — the duo brought structure and clarity to the restaurant business while keeping the heart of street food alive.

With a proven track record and growing popularity, the vision expanded. The second GingerFresh outlet opened in one of the busiest areas of NE Calgary, and this time the brand was already known. Supported by a strong customer base, the new location began outperforming its projected sales, setting new milestones month after month. GingerFresh was no longer just an idea; it had become a trusted Indo-Chinese brand in Calgary.
